Mortgage Consumer Advocates, Inc. (MCA) is a Texas Non-profit corporation whose mission is
- To educate and inform consumers on mortgage loans and procedures;
- To give consumers ready access to complaint forms along with state and federal agency's information in the case of a legitimate dispute with a mortgage provider;
- To give educators and academics tools and resources to inform, teach and research information on the mortgage industry, mortgage lending, and the mortgage process.
- To give the media a source of readily accessible information and links to relevant mortgage industry sites to help them obtain information for news stories and features about the mortgage industry. We will also be available for interviews, or resource guide for our industry.
MCA wants to give consumers information to educate, and be better informed about mortgage loan products and procedures, so they may make better and more informed decisions on loans that meet their particular situation. MCA wants to help eradicate the mortgage industry of bad players, which hurt everyone both inside and outside the industry.
An Advisory Board will assist Mortgage Consumer Advocates in discriminating information and providing assistance to consumers, educators and the media who want information regarding mortgage loans or the industry. Our advisers come from all fields including: mortgage professionals, state and federal regulators, consumer advocates, attorneys specializing in the mortgage industry, representatives from National Association of Mortgage Brokers and the Mortgage Bankers Association, housing advocacy groups, financial auditors, and representatives from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

It will list the pros and cons of each product and give you the basic qualifying guidelines for each product. This site will give you a pre-application section and home buying checklist that if used, will give you the opportunity to obtain a lower interest rate and have a smoother more enjoyable home buying experience. This section will also explain the mortgage lending steps and expected times for each step. We will also give you tips on what some lenders do to increase their profit at your expense. Finally, we will give you links, documents, and resources to file a complaint to regulators in the event you have been mistreated by a Mortgage Company.
